I’ve been trying to figure out what to call a growing part of my photography: curated arrangements, styled displays, perhaps just beautifully curated stuff. These are photographs of things someone else has chosen, placed and combined—and that I put a frame around. These might be a great display in a store, a carefully arranged kitchen counter, or a delightful hotel room. They interest me most when they don’t just look styled, but feel like someone cared about putting them together.
The Pali Hotels are filled with these arrangements: floral headboards, plaid blankets, patterned lampshades, old telephones, china cups, art books, dog portraits and carefully clashing colors and patterns. Much of it seems as though it shouldn’t go together, but somehow it does. It feels collected rather than purchased as a matching set—and there is humor and heart behind it. Everywhere I look, I find another photograph.

Nice stuff. Were they paintings, you’d call them still lifes, so I figure that description applies here as well
Love the pops of red in the lawn chairs paired with the green of the grass. Great use of complimentary colors.
