During my recent LA trip, I spent a day photographing with Jefferson Graham, whose travel series Photowalks TV has grown from YouTube into a nationally broadcast show on Scripps News.
Good advice, Josh. I almost always go out alone, but you’re right — it helps, sometimes, to see what and how others see. I’ll make a note to visit a local skate park.
Incidentally, when I first read this post’s title, I thought it was about collaborative drug use. But that would be “shooting up.” Simply “shooting” is less concerning — as long as the only thing you’re packing is your camera.
Thanks. And ha!I thought a lot about recent goings on in the news, etc., and whether we should be using the word shooting for photography. My current feelings, which could change down the road, is that I’m gonna keep using it. I’m not gonna let outside events bully me into not using a word that is effective. But open to others thoughts.
Understandable. A lot of words would be out of bounds if we had to think about whether they would be insensitive in a different context. But we can’t be in different contexts simultaneously, and some words just seem right when used in the right place.
Lots of fun! Thanks for the mention!
